Stephen Lynch
for Berri Barmera Council
We need to bring back industries and employment to this area, build up businesses and get commerce back. Let's rebuild the region into the prosperous and successful area it can be, attracting tourism, investment and development. With good, cautious, studied direction from council we can turn this area around.
I will continue to make myself available to act and advocate for you with council as much as possible. If you request information I will do my best to get it for you in plain speak or I will explain the legislation to you. If you have a problem I will investigate it and bring it to council's attention as soon as possible to try to get it resolved for you.
I was born in 1960,
married in 1978, and am a very proud father and grandfather to a wonderful
bunch of children.
My past employment includes Storeman,
Machinery Operator, Primary Producer, Horticultural Manager, Metal Work Artist
and Interviewer.
I became known in the community as the first Manager of the Riverland Farmers Market and as the former Manager of the Barmera Main Street Markets.
I became known in the community as the first Manager of the Riverland Farmers Market and as the former Manager of the Barmera Main Street Markets.
I am currently a member of the Riverland
Suicide Prevention Network, a Convenor at the Loxton Show, an Australian Orchid
Council Judge and the Public Officer and Registrar of the Riverland Orchid
Society Inc.
During the last four years I have served
as Area Councillor for the Berri Barmera District. In that time I have been available
and an advocate for residents, solving many problems for them, both large and
small.
It has been an honour to serve you all, attending
events throughout the District and serving on a variety of community based committees.
For the past four years I have been the
Chairman of the Barmera Beautification Committee. That Committee was involved
in Barmera winning many awards. Barmera was entered into the Keep Australia
Beautiful Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities and won awards in 2015, was joint
state winner in 2016 and was the Overall National Winner in 2017.
If
re-elected I will continue to advocate for open and transparent governance so
that every resident in the district can see where the council is spending their
money.
I will continue to work for the entire
District, making sure basic services are not forgotten, while keeping a prudent
eye on expenditure for development. I will push for safer footpaths, cheaper
services and improved communication between council and residents.

The one promise I will make to all residents, is I will continue to get all
necessary available information about every issue, so I can make an informed
decision and vote on behalf of the best interests of the whole community.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need my help, no matter is too
small.
Thank you,
Stephen Lynch
